Evelyn Thielemann
Founder
Affectionately known as “Ms. Evelyn” around the office, Mom still comes in every day. She continues to open the mail, run errands for the company, and sign checks whenever needed.
When Evelyn and Walter first married in 1950, she was a licensed vocational nurse at St. Francis Hospital and later employed by the late Dr. Robert A. Hasskarl of Brenham. She truly loved that job in serving and taking care of patients, however her focus adjusted in 1956 when she and Walter opened their own business, Walter Thielemann Construction.
Being an exceptional student when she was young enabled her to juggle the many tasks of raising their young family at home while also running a business. So while Walter took care of the construction & employees in the field, Evelyn basically ran the office and managed all the accounting side of things. She handled all the books by hand and was meticulous in her record keeping. Thielemann Construction would not be what it is today had she not made the contributions she did all those years ago.
Evelyn is a lifelong resident of Washington County and a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. She is an avid bowler and still can be seen competing in the local bowling leagues. She also loves putting together puzzles, enjoying ladies functions at the church, and watching her grandkids and great-grandkids in their various sport and school activities. She is blessed to have 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
